Craving something sweet for breakfast? Then head over to Etna Coffee in Baker Street to satisfy it!
About Etna Coffee
This Sicilian cafè saw the light thanks to Gaetano and Enrico Bauso, two brothers who came all the way to London from Catania, the second-largest city in Sicily.
Their main objective was to create a real Sicilian street food experience in London, spreading the Sicilian culture and dishes throughout the world.
They wanted to create a homelike atmosphere so that the customers could feel like real friends and, let me tell you, they have completely succeeded. As soon as you step inside the little but very welcoming cafè, you feel immediately part of the community.
Offering
What makes this place stand out is the quality of its ingredients and, most importantly, the price.
They select the best Sicilians suppliers, using only traditional recipes, and sell their products at very reasonable prices in comparison to their competitors. An arancino, for example, a box of 5 small arancini only costs 4.50£ but while the price is low, the quality is always very high.
They serve:
arancini and other hot Sicilian dishes
Pinsa (type of pizza)
a selection of homemade cakes
organic drinks
panini made with the same dough as Pinsa
What we ordered
CHOCOLATE TARTE CREAM CROISSANT PISTACHIO TARTE
We decided to go for a Sicilian croissant filled with crema pasticcera (aka pastry cream) and chocolate and pistachio Sicilian tartes.
The cornetto was super flakey and filled to the brim with cream, which made every single bite a delightful experience. The pistachio tarte was really creamy and decadent, as well as the chocolate one, which, in my opinion, was however a bit too sweet for my liking.
But overall we enjoyed them very much and could taste the quality of the ingredients.
Location and price
Etna Coffee is located at 54 Baker St, London W1U 7BU, UK.
The Sicilian tartes were 3.50£ each, whereas the croissant was just 1.80£ , a real bargain if you ask me!
